Look on the bright side: the FBI could finish its work by Tuesday.

We could still have the vote.

No reason not to get some of the procedural steps out of the way in the Senate during that time.

The FBI cannot conduct a criminal investigation into an alleged 1982 state crime. They can reopen the background file and add 302s that will be redundant with what the committee already did. Senate Leadership on both sides says tomorrow is still up in the air if they are in or have motion to proceed vote on Kavanaugh nomination. But we should know something soon.
