The FBI cannot conduct a criminal investigation into an alleged 1982 state crime. They can reopen the background file and add 302s that will be redundant with what the committee already did. But of course Dems will then say that wasn't a "real" investigation. Flake got played. Chad Pergram Verified account

Senate Leadership on both sides says tomorrow is still up in the air if they are in or have motion to proceed vote on Kavanaugh nomination. But we should know something soon.
Ok, but really right now, Kavanaugh’s fate is not in the Rats’ hands, it is solely in Flake’s and Murkowski’s hands.
At this point we really don’t know what will satisfy them. My hunch tells me that it probably won’t take much, and that once it’s over, they will vote to confirm.

Have you seen the video of Flake being accosted by two women screaming that they are victims of sexual assault and does he believe them? It went on for more than two minutes. It should never have happened to a US Senator while he was getting on a Senate elevator. Flake, though, handled it very very poorly. He looks worse than a scared rabbit. He was completely befuddled. I guess living as a perfumed prince for whom the ordinary laws do not apply leaves a weak person believing he is tough.
