What is Your Favorite APP on Your Cell Phone?

What is your favorite cell phone app?

In the past I would have said iHeartRadio because I used it all the time to listen to radio shows from all over the country. However, since almost a year ago, I listen to radio mostly via my Echo Dot although sometimes I still use my cell phone for that especially when I am out of the house.

Nowadays my favorite app is FilmoraGo which allows me to EASILY and quickly edit my videos and upload them to YouTube, Facebook, or other places. I also have GoPro Studio on my computer for my GoPro videos but I find Filmora to be much faster and easier. Also, it turns out that my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge camera has video quality equal to, if not better, than my GoPro camera. I still use the GoPro camera for shots in the water or under the water but now I do most of my recording on my Samsung cell phone.

Okay, FilmoraGo might not be enough for high level producers of videos but for me it is enough. Mainly I look to easily cut out parts of the videos I don't want, and to easily merge the videos I want to splice together with sooth transitions.

Okay, I spilled about my favorite cell phone app, what's yours?

Not an app, per se, but I use a pdf of a Starrett decimal chart all the time, an a HP-15C calculator emulator.

None. I hate my cell phone. Didn’t want a smart-phone ever. Got stuck with one because my 3G phone was being interfered with by a network booster somewhere in my neighborhood. The only way I could get rid of the problem was to upgrade.

I have 2 favorites:

1) Camera - take pictures of receipts when I travel
2) AnkiDroid - flashcard app allows me to study for my college courses and certification tests.

I am a big user of Discogs. I have a lot of knowledge and can usually pick out the money records in any genre, but it is handy to look something up if you’re out on a buy.

I like the Libby app for reading books for free from the local libraries. I also like my podcasts app for obvious reasons.

The flashlight is indeed hard to beat, for convenience and simplicity. LOL

To be honest I don't load apps because of Privacy concerns. Ive deleted a bunch of the junk that comes on the phone as default. Every time something looks interesting it seems that is wants access to all kinds of things it shouldn't need. Just because we're being surveilled doesn't mean I should make it easier.

Im very interested in getting a radio app but something doesn't seem right. If theres one out there that was relatively secure I would try it.

The only thing Ive added is a flashlight app.

Remember this story during the summer?
July 16, 2018;
“Georgia Cops use Coin Flip App to Decide Woman’s Traffic Arrest”.

Two Lady Cops thought it would be nifty to leave it up to the simulated coin toss when a driver missed her Stop Sign.
Meanwhile, the poor girl driver was in the car crying her eyes out. This was serious, at least it was to her.
Both Cops got fired.

My local conservative talk radio station app, with my bluetooth earbud I can listen to talk radio even when I’m working.

I was hoping to see some useful suggestions, but none have appeared yet.

I like the Opera browser for text-intensive sites like FR. It has a built-in text wrap feature so when you resize, the text stays within the screen boundaries (no horizontal scrolling). It comes with an ad blocker too. I do 99% of my phone surfing with this browser.

I recently found an app called “MyRadar”, which gives me a display of the NOAA weather radar, without all the bloat you get with commercial weather sites. It has ads, but they are not obtrusive. Very nice so far.

For electronics nerds, there is ElectroDroid.
