Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) says that she and her husband are ready to leave their home in Alaska and “get outside and do more.”
“We were anchored here for the kids. Now our youngest daughter is going to be out of school — she's going to go to nursing school — she'll be taken care of." “And we're ready to do a lot more.”
“We’re not going to be holed up in Wasilla, Alaska, the rest of our life..."
Palin and her husband, Todd Palin, said they have lived in Wasilla since they first met in high school. But both said they think now is time for a change.
“He's more driven then I am to bust out and get some things done..."
As for where they’ll end up, her husband said: “If you see sea planes flying around Arizona or New Mexico you'll know who it is.”
The politician also offered some words of advice to her Republican colleagues.
“They're in power. They've got the House, the Senate, they have the Administration and yet they're acting like victims and they're always on defense,” she said. “That's not what the supporters of the platform expect.”
“We expect to be on offense in order to clean things up — drain that swamp — get government back on our side and get it off our backs and quit playing victim all the time!”
“You're not going to win a ballgame only playing defense,” she added.

She could have had Murkowski’s seat if she really wanted it. She wants only to be a celebrity. Easy money. Yes I voted for her before she quit. So much for following her.
I think Minnesota would be a good fit. We have sun, snow, lakes, stuff to shoot and eat etc. Plus this state really needs to be cleaned up.

Why would she in today's environment won't to be flying between DC and AZ?
She's going to want to be close to Trig during his more formative years, imo.
Being tied up in the political circle isn't conducive for that. We'll see.
I think Sarah Palin's days in elective politics are over. I don't think she realized how ugly things would be when she accepted the VP slot. She was a decent person and was just brutalized.
Let her and Todd go enjoy a comfortable serenity somewhere.
Wow, surprising that Sarah and Todd would leave Wasilla.
My husband and I drove right up to Sarah's gate (with its big American flag across it) last July when we were in Alaska. We had some extra time, and the sun didn't set until around 1:00 am, so we took a drive up to Wasilla, lol.
Wasilla isn't as beautiful as I pictured... at least what we saw of it. Lots of dive-bar 'saloons' and kind of run-down buildings.
Her property -- which is a small compound of buildings -- is only a few feet off a fairly busy road (I think it was Route 3, the Parks Highway), right smack next to a Best Western Hotel on Lake Lucille. I think there's a railroad track between the street and her property line, if I remember correctly. The view of the lake is really nice, but she doesn't have as much privacy as I expected.
Wasilla felt very, very remote to me. It's about 44 miles NE of Anchorage. Long lonely drive out there and back to Anchorage. I'm guessing Wasilla probably has more moose than people!
After she gets done settling suit with the New York Times, she’ll be able to afford a nice rural house overlooking the ocean.
So they loaded up the truck and moved to Beverly....Hills, that is.
Yes, she definitely got put through the ringer. Unfairly, of course.
