I have heard that Mitch McConnell doesn't need the committee's recommendation and he can take the vote directly to the full senate. Is this true?

Politics operates through power. Right now, we do not have enough. A 51 to 49 majority is a weak hand, especially since the Republicans do not operate an organized criminal enterprise like the Democrat Party has. We need to elect more Republicans, the effect will be apparent.

Grassley has this under control as much as can be expected. I would imagine he has plans to vote Monday if she says no, and a vote Thursday if she testifies on Wednesday. Grassley probably knows she ain’t coming, therefore better to keep the offer on the table until you vote.
