Regardless of the guilt or innocence of Kavanaugh, it is ridiculous to think that what someone did in high school, should determine his character after leading an exemplary life for the next 40 years.
The average person looking at this is intelligent enough to look at this for what it is, no matter what they claim. To me it is like the "hanging chad" controversy when they were trying to claim that George Bush was elected illegitimately because the people in Florida were too stupid to vote correctly.
Both of these tactics are pathetic and defy common sense - but you can't even google anything that disagrees with the forgone conclusion that Kavanaugh in unfit and CBF is a feminist hero.
I don't think average people want to be judged by high school hijinks. I am a completely different person than I was in high school, as with most people who grow and mature.
I don't believe this convenient tale about Kavanaugh for one minute, but even if it WERE true, so what? He was not alleged to touch her anywhere that is inappropriate and allowed her to leave the room when she resisted. To me this is pretty slim stuff to be making such hysterical claims about like "sexual assault". There is no way that this is even close to a sexual assault. If you want a real definition - check out what is alleged against Keith Ellison.
OK. I think I get it. Like when you shagged your Daddy’s cousin’s 13 year old daughter when you were a junior in high school? Yeah. I’m sure you’ll deny it. But, just like what’s asked re the good Judge, will your character now be determined by “what YOU DID in high school”?
Random thoughts on this.
1) The accusation against Kavanaugh is a composite of things the accuser has experienced herself or heard about. Kavanaugh’s identity has been pasted in, even though he had nothing to do with Ford, ever. It’s a political hit job.
2) MOST people mature, and grow out of the stupid things they did as kids. We set age thresholds for voting, marrying, drinking, contracts, firearms, military service, etc., based on experience that most children/teens grow into adults by age 18 or 21.
3) SOME people who act in seriously deviant and criminal ways in their childhood and teens do not mature or grow out of it. The prisons are full of exactly those people. Kids who do evil things to animals, or engage in sex crimes often get into increasingly serious crime as adults. Childhood substance abuse often tracks with this, and it’s a commonplace that you can guess the age when an adult started the serious drinking/drug use by their current maturity level.
4) By contrast, there are no other indications of abusive behavior by Kavanaugh, ever, or evidence that he was a drunk or druggie. There is a heap of evidence that he has been a hard-working, straight arrow his entire life. If he had done what he is accused of, he grew up instantaneously the next day.
5) The accusation was made to cause a delay in the process, to make it an election issue to drive Dem turnout, and to provide a plausible excuse for weak Republicans and Trump-haters to vote against Kavanaugh. Bonus goals include portraying Republicans as womyn-haters if they doubt the accuser, or subject her to an “unfair” process (like telling her story under oath in public, answering logical questions, and providing any sort of corroboration).
6) My fervent hope is that Ford testifies at the hearing under oath, where she will win the academy award for Best Performance in a False Accusation. Let the Dems/media gloat and climb out on the limb of how credible she was. Then bring on witnesses and evidence that exposes it all as a complete lie.
A person’s character is judged by something that never happened.

________
Please explain what this has to do with the topic at hand? K was not accused of “shagging” a 13 yr. old when he was a junior. He was accused of making an awkward drunken attempt at seducing someone at a party. He was not accused of touching her anywhere inappropriatly and she was allowed to leave the room when she resisted. In no way can this be construed as “sexual assault”.
For the cases where someone is accused of actual sexual assault, we should look at patterns. Patterns can display a person’s character. Anyone can be accused of anything. Our constitution says “innocent until proven guilty.”
The fact that there is a political conspiracy in place against constitutional, limited, government - and against judges such as Clarence Thomas and Brett Kavanaugh who stand for it - hales back much further back in time than the vast right wing conspiracy . . . against my husband claim made by Hillary Clinton twenty years ago. That has been undeniable for so long that it hales back almost to the time referred to in Mrs. Fords complaint against Judge Kavenaugh.
Even by Ms. Ford's own telling, in the putative incident:
And the truth of the charges alleged by Ms. Ford against Judge Kavenaugh cannot actually matter.
- nobody was killed.
- the prestige of the US government was not compromised by the brutalizing and murder of a US ambassador.
- nobody spent a night in terror and fighting for their lives without support from their U.S. government employer.
- the incident putatively happened way back in 1982. No less than a third of the people who were alive in America in 1982 - have died by now. In that perspective, is Ms. Fords angst actually the only thing that matters?
So the question for Senator Feinstein, is
- It will never be clear that the charges are true - and it will never be clear that they are false. The charge is too indefinite and witness-free. It asks Judge Kavenaugh to prove a negative.
What difference, at this point, does it make?"
Its even worse than that.. there character can be determined by what someone SAYS they did in high school, with no evidence, or even anyone else who can confirm they even mentioned it to them...
Dont you people recall your high school teachers warning you that your behavior will “go on your permanent record”?
