Work has been running me ragged lately though.

Well better to be hard at work than to be leisurely unemployed.
After I went independent I learned about the worry about down time (but so far 2 years of continued engagements).
Better than doing quarterly performance reviews or being expected to write white papers no one will ever read, though. :)
