Gregg Jarrett: If Rod Rosenstein defies Trump's order to declassify documents, he should be fired
Fox News ^ | 09/19/18 | Gregg Jarret

President Trump has ordered that numerous documents involving the Russia investigation be declassified. The records have long been sought by Congress under lawful subpoenas. Yet, the FBI and Department of Justice have consistently obstructed the release of these materials under the guise of “classified” secrets. This is a convenient alibi all too frequently employed to cover-up wrongdoing and abuse of authority by those we entrust to uphold the law.

These days, overzealous government officials automatically designate nearly all matters as national security risks, regardless of whether they truly are.

Whenever the FBI orders Chinese take-out, it is labeled “top secret” because… you know… it involves the Chinese. False classification has reached absurd proportions.

Trump is listening to lawyers when he should be following his gut reaction. We voted for his judgment not for pansy ass legal pussies.

I thought Sessions Was seen last weekend parked in his pickup. I think he was keeping an eye on a marijuana smoker.

Failure to comply with a presidential order is serious stuff. Its worse than insubordination as it would send the wrong message to the rest of the government (i.e., you don’t have to do what the president wants).

This order must be complied with or else heads have to roll. Trump cannot let underlings thwart him. A leader does not tolerate that kind of rebellion.

He should've been fired a long time ago. Refusing his boss' orders is just another on the long list of reasons.

Agree. The lawyers will wrap him around the axle if he lets them. Time to assert his presidential authority is now.

If they resist him, he has every right to fire them on the spot. Lawyers be damned.

Has anyone found Sessions and told him what’s going on?

Who is this Sessions that you speak of? The name sounds familiar.

Does the President have access to the file? If so he should write “DECLASSIFIED” on it and post it on the internet. He has the authority to do it. And he should absolutly fire everyone who refused his lawful order.

Yes. They leave him no choice if they do. Immediate termination or else suffer a blow to his authority that severely weakens him at home and abroad. He cannot afford to let the happen.

This is a defining moment in his presidency, make no mistake about it.

“Trump is playing it right...”

It seems to me there is a lot of eagerness for Trump to mete out justice by firing deep state traitors and Obama co-conspirators or locking them up.

But there is another more important aspect to draining the swamp that may be happening behind the scenes - namely thwarting the underlying deep state agenda.

The underlying deep state agenda is basically a power grab whereby the Left infiltrates government disguised as social justice warriors in order to exploit and plunder the American middle class.

The Left’s socialist or Marxist stated goal - redistributing wealth to correct social injustice - is only a pretense. Their true agenda is simply to accumulate power for themselves and to plunder the American people.

What it amounts to is piracy on huge scale.

I think Trump has made huge strides starting from day one in dismantling the deep state’s operations. Just the fact of Trump being elected may have dealt a crippling blow - I would imagine many of the power brokers packed up their bags of bribe money and went home the minute they realized they no longer had a friend in the White House.

We can assume more deep state players deprived of the bribe money are preoccupied with covering their tracks rather than furthering the deep state agenda.

I would like to see some Obama co-conspirators locked up - and a quick end to this Mueller nonsense. But even if that doesn’t happen, I have a strong feeling that a lot of good swamp draining is happening behind the scenes.

For one thing, Trump just does not look like a man who is suffering defeat. He doesn’t look beaten at all - he looks to me like a man who is winning.

Just fire him already. And don’t forget to take away his clearance.

It is ironic. Its not going to go well for him if he continues to resist firing people, especially those who openly defy him. I’m a Trump supporter, and hate to say it, but he’s got to step up and do what needs to be done to get control over his own executive branch. He cannot stand idly by while they work to undermine him and subvert his agenda.

According to legal expert on Fox, Napolitano, even if the docs are declassified, it does not mean public can see them anytime soon. It will depend on deep state at DOJ & FBI how soon they “process” them, if at all.

So yes, the POTUS will have to put the pressure on.

Trump simply cannot allow his subordinates (they work for him, they are employees in the executive branch) to thwart or defy him as this insubordination would severely undermine his authority, if not damage the presidency itself.

This would not only weaken him at home, it would also diminish his respect and credibility abroad which could lead to tragic miscalculations by our adversaries.
He cannot afford to let the happen.

This is a DEFINING MOMENT moment in his presidency. He must prevail over the Deep State — or we’re all in deep trouble.

Yes, absolutely. But I have a nasty feeling the deep state will not roll over and comply. They are so spoiled and conceited.
