It’s a Wednesday evening in February, and time for the weekly meeting of Pleasure@MIT, an acronym for “peers leading education about sexuality and speaking up for relationship empowerment.” The Pleducators are a wonderful group of people committed to changing the culture at MIT to reduce sexual misconduct by encouraging healthy communication and relationships.
Serving as a Pleducator and being part of the VagMo cast have made me believe that change is possible, and that I can be a part of it. And I know now that I can always go back to the learning zone. After all, if I could join two completely unexpected and totally awkward groups, what can’t I do?

The author is an MIT humanities major and a blogger for admissions (don't ask me why either one is worth having at MIT!), not an actual admissions officer. I know all of their admissions officers, and none of them are obviously freaks or agenda-driven leftists.

While an undergrad at *another* Boston college we were offered a few free courses at MIT; I took a math course. About killed me; but the power of prayer helped me pass.
I can’t imagine how rigorous the rest of the curriculum was.
One great thing, MIT offered lectures and invited other schools to attend. I recall the electrifying debates that Billy Graham had with Berkeley activist Mario Salvio. Rev. Graham chewed him up and spit him out; Salvio didn’t know what hit him. Heh.
I must credit Rev. Graham [from those debates]with being the tipping point in my life to ever embracing a liberal philosophy. God Bless his soul.

Nobody is applying, and everybody is saying ‘FU’ to the business model.
“Let’s see, I go $250K in debt and still can’t show an employer I have an actual skill. I could go down to the local IBEW, sign up for their internship program, make $20 to go to school for 6 weeks, and then spend the rest of the year actually working in a skilled trade. In year 2 I make $25 an hour, and at the end I have to work for a union shop for two years, where I’ll make $65K per year and up. - no debt, and no political re-education.
