“The Rachel Maddow Show” had its 10-year anniversary on September 8. For the week of September 10, 2018, she celebrated with her biggest audience ever.
Covering both literal and political storms and hosting a sit-down with Bob Woodward Tuesday, “Maddow” averaged 3.43 million total viewers each night, per live-plus-same-day ratings from Nielsen, with 667,000 of them coming from the coveted adults 25-54 demographic.

You are right, the downfall of failed CNN has significantly aided the Maddow TV viewer numbers. However, her main draw of viewers comes from the Gay community many sectors.
