FULL TITLE: Planned Parenthood Prez Treated Woman Who Died From Botched Legal Abortion, But Says Abortions Great
Planned Parenthoods new president, Dr. Leana Wen, has been sharing the heart-wrenching story of watching a woman die from a botched abortion to claim women need better access to abortion.
A former emergency room doctor and Baltimore health commissioner, Wen now runs the largest abortion provider in America. Planned Parenthood aborts nearly 330,000 unborn babies each year, and boasts a record income of $1.46 billion.
The story she has been sharing is a tragic reminder that women still die from abortions, even though they are legal and widely available in America. Yet, Wen has used the womans death to push for even more abortions more killing of unborn babies. Nearly 1 million unborn babies already are aborted every year in America, but she implies that is not enough.
She recently spoke to the pro-abortion blog Bustle about the experience:
AM: [D]o you view a legal right to an abortion more as a question of a right to privacy or as a question of economic justice?
LW: Its both and more. I see it first as a health issue because Ive seen what happens when women dont have access to medical care, including safe, legal abortions. Working in the ER, I treated a young woman who came in lying in a pool of blood, without a pulse. We did everything we could in the ER to try to save her, but we failed, and she died. And it turns out that she didnt have access to health care and resorted to having her cousin attempt an abortion on her at home.
This is whats at stake when women dont have access to health care, and when women dont have access to safe, legal abortions. Its a health care issue. Its also an economic justice issue. Its also a privacy issue. Why should government and politicians be making decisions for women about their bodies and their health?
Planned Parenthood and its supporters blame a lack of access to abortion for these sad stories. They call for more taxpayer funding (Planned Parenthood already receives nearly half a billion tax dollars each year), including direct taxpayer funding for elective abortions, and an end to common sense abortion laws such as health and safety regulations for abortion facilities, late-term abortion limits, parental consent, informed consent and more.
Pro-abortion groups even are pushing do-it-yourself abortions openly in America which has some of the most permissive abortion laws in the world. Planned Parenthood also uses webcam abortions, a dangerous method where women never see a doctor in person before aborting their unborn babies.

According to her website, Wen previously worked in the Department of Emergency Medicine at George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and did her medical training at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis and Brigham & Womens Hospital/Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
Wen has not said where she observed the woman die, but Planned Parenthood has large abortion facilities in all of these cities. Washington, D.C. and Boston have independent abortion businesses as well, and hospitals in large cities also sometimes provide elective abortions. Some pro-abortion groups also help women pay for their abortions when they have financial struggles, and these groups are easy to find online. So, it is difficult to believe that access was to blame for the womans death.
Instead, it likely was a lack of support. This woman and her unborn baby should never have died, and she never should have felt desperate enough to want an abortion. But women today are told that abortions are empowering and necessary for womens success. They even are told by abortion activists that they can safely abort their unborn babies at home.
But the truth is that whether abortion is legal or illegal, women die from botched abortions in abortion facilities and at home. LifeNews has documented several cases where women died after abortions at Planned Parenthood. These include Tonya Reaves, Cree Erwin, Diana Lopez, Holly Patterson and others.
When abortion is legal, more babies die as well. Women and their families deserve better support so that they never have to feel that they must abort their own child to survive.
Well, at least they are not botching them in the back alley.
Planned Parenthoods new president, Josef Mengele, has been sharing the heart-wrenching story of watching a set of twins die from a botched experiment to claim twins need better access to labs and researchers.
