Very few. My grandfather was. German Army. My friend William Roth was. Paratrooper, survived Leningrad. Also knew a German U-boat commander. Amazing people you find at German clubs in Pennsylvania. They’ve all since passed.

In a little town in Alabama - Aliceville - there was a German POW camp. I believe it housed Rommel's troops captured in North Africa. There's a small museum there now, really worth seeing if you happen to be in the area. (smile) But some German families have visited. There is a book about this - Guests across the Barbed Wire? I think is the title.

There were also some German POWs in North Alabama near Redstone Arsenal.

My cousin had them as a work crew for some projects he had to get completed. He said almost all of them were happy to be there instead of still fighting the war. Most stayed in the US after the war.
