"field grade officers are generally considered Major\Lt. Col.\Col. in Marines\Army\AF. I wonder why they and\or generals should know Constitutional Law ?"

Perhaps because it is their duty to defend the Constitution. The officer's oath:

I ___, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.

Thanks.

That pretty much was the same type of oath I took as an enlisted.

Here’s today’s oath - http://www.theusmarines.com/the-oath-of-enlistment/

You referred to Lt. Gen Flynn as “field grade”. He was way passed that as a 3-star.
Your explanation doesn’t answer my question why should field grade and above know Constitutional Law ?

Do they take Constitutional Law classes ? I wonder if they even take UCMJ classes ?

Thanks
