Prepare for endless eyerolls as the media gleefully announces that Superman is now an African-American.

I’m assuming there was no place called “Africa” on Krypton.

Prepare for endless eyerolls as the media gleefully announces that Superman is now an African-American.

Back in the 1990s, when Tim Russ was hired to play a Vulcan on Star Trek Voyager, there were endless articles announcing that he was playing the first "African American Vulcan."

The character was not African or American. He was from the planet Vulcan.
