Is South Carolina home to an unusually large ghost population?

Probably not, but it's convenient. I live near Charlotte, NC.

I took a ghost walk tour in Charleston one night. It was really fun and cool, but I didn’t see any ghosts. :-))

The ghost of Revolutionary War General William Davidson is supposed to appear at the cemetery where he’s buried, west of Charlotte, on the anniversary of his death. Since he died on February 1, we’ve never gone out there at night to see him.

Very interesting. Things are always more nuanced and complex in real life than the simplistic generalizations one was taught in school: “Lincoln Good. Douglas Bad.”

Well... Douglas was a Democrat and therefore "sound on n*gg*rs", at least from a Northern Democrat perspective.
But from Southern Democrats' perspectives, Douglas was weak to the point of being unacceptable as their leader.

Lincoln was born into an abolitionist family and wanted to see slavery restricted on the road toward abolition.
And that was also the view of most Illinoisans, so Douglas attacked Lincoln on the point of advocating "Negro equality", which most Illinoisans opposed.

Lincoln's efforts to thread that needle are famous.
