Congratulations on her wedding.
At least you aren’t linking to some damn blog. :)
Oops. I should have read what you posted.
I’m sorry.
I get your pain.
Sometimes you just have to get things off of your chest, so to speak. No need to apologize to anyone.
She can have two ceremonies. A small one this weekend and a big one when things clear up. Full walk down the aisle, dress, flowers etc with all the friends and family to watch.
Can you get most of the deposits back in light of the evacuation order?
If it was my daughter I’d put n my biggest smile and assure her that this is a sign...a “harbinger”...of great, great things to come!
Find a way to make the day doubly special. Wherever you and yours gather will be joyous.
BTW you should probably contact the vendors to find out what their policy would be if the hurricane does hit
If you do have the small wedding, she can still be walked down the aisle. She can still have the dance. No it wont be the elaborate wedding she dreamed of. But, there is time to improvise for the parents and few close family/friends who can be part of it.
Im so sorry this is happening. I know you and especially she and her fiancé are very disappointed. But, I want to extend my prayers and prayers for blessings on their marriage.

My heart goes out to all involved. Your daughter will figure out something, but this is a huge disappointment.
Agreed on the two weddings - one small, one large. Obviously not the story book wedding that everyone wants - but I’m sure everyone will understand. And lots of fodder for the groom’s dinner and the preacher.
Best man:
“I told him not to get married - God even sent a hurricane to try to stop it...”
Preacher: “And even a hurricane couldn’t stop this wedding. And there will be other turbulent seasons ahead, but with their love for each other and God.....”
I just saw a post earlier from a mom who said he daughter had a full outdoor wedding planned in Annapolis this Saturday. I felt awful for her.
I am so sorry! I can only imagine how hard this is! Wow. Keep us posted.
Obviously you love your daughter so much! Your post is about HER feelings and how you want her to be happy with this special time. Your concern is for her, not any frustrations YOU may have. What a wonderful father you are and what a lucky girl she is to have you.
Now, look, Dads are supposed to protect their little girl...and this is a little more complicated than a skinned knee. don’t be so hard on yourself...You’re just expressing feelings and concerns any caring father would.
ITS ALL GOING TO TURN OUT WONDERFULLY...even with some surprises along the way.
Thankfully, the venue for the reception was willing to move to another date at no charge if we let them know by Wednesday afternoon. If we wait past that it costs us $2000 to change it. They are willing to show up and still do it on Sunday(it is a very nice venue), however, we would be on generator power and the area is prone to flooding. If we keep the date and no one shows we are out all the money. My daughter,of course, is saying “I don’t care, I want it to go on” and we are saying that even if the weather is fine Sunday there may be alot of storm damage and power outage...no one may show up due to that because let’s be honest who wants to go to a wedding when dealing with cleanup from a massive storm while also not having power. she is an emotional wreck...
love this :)
Oh, I am SO sorry to hear this!! For your dear daughter, for you and your hubby/family/friends.
I searched for similar situations, with Hurricane Harvey (we just had our one year anniversary, of Harvey, here in Texas). And, here is a link to that search, with several similar situations....(pardon the search phrase, in the first link....it was what came to mind, to find relevant stories/articles)....

Maybe some solace in what others were able to do/have, when faced with a pending storm. Many beautiful stories and memories came out of what (at the time) was a terrible threat to their dreams and plans.
My best wishes to the happy couple. Trust in God and, remember, that LOVE conquers ALL.
Please keep us posted. You will all be in my prayers.
