Infected meat, they wrote. Yes, that would be infected monkey meat. But saying so would probably be racist.
It has been reported that Zulus were eating pigmies. The Zulus refer to them as “monkey meat.” Also, here is another article on rebels eating pigmies. (Isn’t diversity wonderful?)

Bring Out Your Dead
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...

Africa just keeps on giving. Which plane will they put some monkeypox infected passengers and send them to the US?

The virus is found mainly in tropical rainforest regions of central and West Africa.

It’s all part of their strength in diversity — they are changing into monkeys.
Monkey say, monkey do.

Monkeypox wasn’t a problem when Smallpox vaccination was required. The vaccinia virus vaccination is effective against all orthodox viral infections including Monkeypox and Camelpox. There are safer vaccines developed by the Germans during the 1960’s that could be used to protect against orthodox viruses but are banned from widespread distribution to civilians due to Cold War fears that vaccination of civilians against Smallpox would make other countries believe that country was intending to use Smallpox as a biological weapon.
