Homeowners in Leander, Texas neighborhood distressed over rattlesnake invasion

A subdivision in a small Texas town north of Austin is facing a dangerous influx of rattlesnakes...Brown came across a baby rattlesnake in his own yard, where his two-year-old daughter and three dogs often play...According to KXAN, local authorities are aware of the issue, but to Brown's knowledge, they haven't done much other than recommend people take preventive measures by cleaning up any overgrown brush or getting rid of places where snakes can hide...As for Brown, he thinks the snakes are victims too and people should heed the recommendations from authorities. I don't want a child, adult, or dog to be bit," Brown said. "I just think people could pick up stuff in their yards, and have situational awareness. If the snakes have no reason to take up residence in your yard, they will go elsewhere."

Just got a second house. There is some kind of tree in the front that has bayonets for thorns. In AZ if it doesn’t bite, sting, stick, poison, cut, or roast it isn’t indigenous to Az. It is a harsh environment.

I made that post from a very nice seat at Chase Field. I was enjoying a two dollar hot dog and a four dollar beer.

Looks like fine seating. I’d join you for the hot dog and the game. Gave up all forms of malt and alcohol about seven years ago. I’ll just have a Dr. Pepper or a water.

I didn’t take that photo. I found one on Google images taken from the exact same spot I had. The photo shows a night game, though.

Probably antibiotic. I went to the hospital several times and happened to be there for his first bowel movement after being bitten, lucky me. I helped him get to the bathroom with his IV pole and him being a brother we always rag one another about bathroom issues, stench, farts etc... par for the course with brothers, but dear God that was the foulest smell I have ever had hit me. He had hardly eaten anything, so it had to be the poison toxins coming out.

BTW, I got a little payback yesterday driving home from church. Ran over and crushed a nice 3 ft. rattler slithering across the road in front of me. He crawled out and I heard and felt that thud under the tires.
