It does not help that the announcers absolutely FAWN over Serena - Chrissy Evert had a mournful tone when Serena tanked today and she (Evert) sounded like a sore Hillary voter on Election Night 2016.
I do think breaking the racket today was gamesmanship after losing the 1st set, attempting to rattle the less-experienced Osaka. Backfire, haha!
Today Serena pulled the “female” card, back when she blamed a hospital for not sooner diagnosing a blood clot after she gave birth, it was racism.
Serena is typical African-American in many ways. She tried to overpower the umpire with rants but he did not fold and stayed his ground as is his right as an umpire.
In America, A-A’s are used to being rewarded for whining and protests. Serena assumed by accusing umpire of being unfair, she would be rewarded.
