Not only that but a quarter stick of dynamite would take off more then fingers I would think.
Been a long time since I have worked with dynamite but the stuff we used to use was more destructive than that.

That is correct. The story seems unlikely to be true, as told.
IIRC dymamite, if left in storage for a long time, will “sweat” nitroglycerin. This makes the stick quite hard to handle safely. That might have only been applicable to the early days of dynamite but I do remember reading that in an explosives manual many years ago.

I always store my dynamite in the gas oven.
Maybe the previous owner was the naked guy in Florida who set fire to his kitchen while baking cookies on a George Foreman grill.

I think it depends on what part of Connecticut the woman was from. Some areas...heck, you may need one at a moment’s notice and can’t be bothered with taking the time to arm it.
