https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2018/09/scary_parallels_between_president_trump_and_that_candidate_who_got_stabbed_in_brazil.html

FTA:
...”Brazil, it turns out, had its equivalent of Barack Obama, in the persona of Luiz Inacio “Lula” da Silva, who, like Obama, came in as someone never before elected - a dark-skinned working man in his case, holding far left views the press never acknowledged, and disguised as hipsterliness, who shoveled pork to the poor, got rich on the side, and left the broader economy in shambles.”...

“It’s obvious the country was looking for an outsider - and it found one, in Bolsonaro, whose slogan was ‘guns up’ and who has vowed to wipe out drug dealers the way President Trump has vowed to halt illegal immigration. He’s also defended the Brazilian military junta of the 1970s and 1980s, which up until now, with the aid of the Castro propaganda machine, has been painted as completely evil, when in remembered reality, it was a mixed bag. Bolsonaro’s been the frontrunner in Brazil’s polls since Aug. 9 and he’s very much an outsider, given that he can’t even get state money for televised campaign ads and has to do all his campaigning by social media and in person.

Sound familiar? Check out the social media presence of Bolsonaro on this Economist chart and note that Trump’s social media presence was just as prominent. Note also that Trump did high-energy in-person rallies during his campaigns as his rival, Hillary Clinton, stumbled around with health problems and ignored warnings from her own successful husband Bill that she had to get to rallies in Wisconsin.”...

FTA:
“Well, congratulations. But this sounds far more like a damning admission of an unelected, self-important saboteur than a persuasive indictment of the duly elected president. And FYI, Trump does fully grasp it. What do you think he’s been shouting about for two years running?”...

“The liberal media are always unfair to Republicans, except those who act like Democrats, but they emit an especially toxic venom toward this president. I, for one, am delighted that Trump fights back, that he does not sit idly and passively take their abuse like many of his GOP predecessors.”...

“One reason even former Trump skeptics have come to appreciate him is that they believe his successes most likely would not have come without his grit and determination to fight against a conglomeration of leftist politicians and institutions determined to thwart his agenda. Many in Trump’s place would have long since rolled over and capitulated, and the country would be back on its way to Obama-style destruction, which is the type of threat that truly concerns those who believe in America as founded.”...

“I find it appalling that Mr. Anonymous boasts of undermining this president and galling that he actually shows himself to be the very type of threat to the republic he claims President Trump is. But we owe him our gratitude for vindicating our suspicions of a deeply entrenched resistance to this constitutionally elected chief executive.”

FYI
“Brazil far-right candidate Bolsonaro in serious condition after stabbing”

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3685623/posts

“Local police in Juiz de Fora confirmed to Reuters that the suspect, Adelio Bispo de Oliveira, 40, was in custody and that he appeared to be mentally disturbed.”

Another vicious/deadly attack getting a free pass with the “mentally disturbed” excuse. Of course he’s mentally disturbed. No rational person attempts or commits murder. The “insanity” defense used to be a very hard sell to juries. Not so much anymore. Can you look at any Antifa goon and not conclude that they are mentally disturbed? Should that equate to a judgement that they are not mentally competent to be held responsible for their actions?

Hi mairdie!

Great article! So interesting to see the parallel track that Brazil has taken. I hope that they find their Donald too in Bolsonaro.
