Conway had adopted the pit bull two weeks prior from a rescue out-of-state.
Her sister, Susan Eve LeClair, said Conway was no stranger to pit bulls which is why she had rescued the one she was walking at the time of the attack.
She cared so much about her animals that she had taken this dog, LeClair said.
Conways family is mourning and is at a loss for words.
Everybody is devasted, LeClair said. I dont know that there are lessons to be learned or not,
Police said the dog showed some signs of aggression.
The dog was on a leash but lunging and barking, they tried to subdue him but ultimately had to euthanize him, said Sherry Llewellyn with Howard County Police.
There was obviously something wrong with this dog, but Robin was a wonderful wonderful person, LeClair said.

Waiting for the pit bull lovers to weigh in on this. How can blame be pinned on anything here? Waiting......

Plenty of them in Texas, too. We are adopting some creative laws though to deal with dangerous breeds. Some cities and municipalities are just flat outlawing ownership of them. Texas law states that if you are the owner of a "dangerous dog" you have 30 days to register the ownership of the dog and show proof of 100,000 worth of liability insurance. (Texas Health and Safety Code Sec. 822.042)

So sad! The dog must have badly abused before he had been adopted.
Play with fire you get burnt.
This story is remarkably similar to the stories of pro-immigrant activists who have seen their close relationships with illegals go badly. Coincidence?
