Well, leaded gasoline tended to “Cover the Erf” too.

This is nonsense. California is trying to find another cash cow. Corrupt and crooked.

I always thought their logo was kinda odd. Paint literally spilling over the earth.

Will we be able to sue Jerry Brown’s estate for all the evil he has foisted on us?

In 1904 people knew lead was poisonous. They didn’t expect people to chow down on it like it’s an entree.

Sherwin-Williams paint colors are the best. Until recently we’ve used Home Sepot or Menards paint. There’s something about SW that just makes it look better.

If this lawsuit somehow raises the price of SW I’m going to be angry. I finally convinced my husband that buying it on sale (40% off Memorial Day weekend and Veterans Day) was close enough to HD prices that it was doable for us. Last time we bought 12 gallons so we are set for the time being.

I think the real problem is that part of the lead in lead paints was lead acetate, which has a sweet taste and was sometimes called “sugar of lead”.

Small children like sweet things and will eat the lead paint for the sweet taste.

Lead acetate was never the primary form of lead in paint, but it was there, and when the paint chips were eaten, the other lead compounds came along for the ride.

If the paint isn’t peeling, it is hard to eat the paint chips.

Why was the state of California not doing its job?

I am pretty sure they never advertised it as a “snack.”

The ad was from 1904? Suing over what? Lead paint was legal back then. They didn’t remove lead from paint 1970’s. Gee we had lead in our gasoline.

If I was a company I would ban sales to CA. Many gun and ammo sellers do.

Oh, good grief. The company started in 1904 and promoted lead paint over several decades, so until maybe the 1930s or 1940s. Leaded paint and gasoline were fairly commonplace until sometime in the 1970s.

California, please secede now!

Sherwin Williams stop making lead paint since 1943. That’s 34 years before it was banned. The judges are basing charges against Sherwin-Williams on ads that ran in the Los Angeles Times and San Diego Union... in 1904. That’s over a century ago.

Great idea. I’m going to sue my local government for promoting lead solder in the building code years ago.
