I read the full statement by DeSantis. Although its not possible to prove it, it looks to me like he was simply using an ordinary figure of speech to describe the problems with socialism, and not an intentional racial insult about his opponent. Regarding the people that are upset about what he said, it seems to demonstrate a racist state of mind, that these persons would automatically associate the word monkey with a black person. The persons doing this are actually helping perpetuate insults that go back to the days of slavery...not good.
Negro sensitivity to any and every use of the words “monkey” and “ape” suggest they themselves feel an affinity with those creatures that makes them nervous.
It will have zero impact unless DeSantis succumbs to the Republican malady and apologizes for saying it. If he does that he is toast and shows conservatives that he could not stand up to the Democrats in Congress.
Your words are spot on. My post #20 adds to your words. The thought of Africans as inferior forms of human beings also goes back to the Germans who used the eugenics concepts of racial inferiority to justify their Southwest Africa genocide. This racial purge of perceived genetic inferiority was adopted by Hitler to eliminate the Jews.
The purveyors of “evolution science” get up-tight when their ideology is revealed.
When all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail. The left's only tool is "cry racism", so anything they hear must be racist.
