Oprah Winfrey angered a lot of her fan base this summer when her magazine promoted a campaign that attempts to normalize the killing of unborn babies.
The July issue of her O magazine featured Shout Your Abortion founder Amelia Bonow in its Inspiration section, CNS News reported. Bonow, who began the campaign to urge women to brag about their abortions, soon will be coming out with a new book by the same title.
Abortion is normal, Bonows campaign claims repeatedly and backs up with stories of women who say their abortions (unborn babies deaths) were a good thing.
My abortion was gentle, irreverent, and empowering, the Shout Your Abortion campaign recently shared, quoting one womans abortion story.
The campaign is part of a larger attempt by the abortion industry to convince the public that killing unborn babies is nothing to be ashamed of. Planned Parenthood, NARAL and other pro-abortion groups have been moving away from the narrative that abortions are difficult matters and they should be safe, legal and rare. Instead, they argue that abortions are good, empowering and necessary to womens success.
The New American noted the significance of Winfrey endorsing the radical pro-abortion message:
After all, Oprah is regularly listed among the most admired women in America.
Winfreys magazine has 10 million readers, and its support of a movement that essentially advocates abortion as something to boast about will no doubt advance the likelihood of women submitting to the grisly procedure.
Unsurprisingly, the piece was followed by a massive outcry. Aside from the most radical abortion supporters, most Americans do not think abortions are good or worth celebrating. Polls consistently find that most Americans oppose most abortions, and more think abortions are morally wrong than morally acceptable.

Still, the brashness that abortion activists display in celebrating the killing of unborn babies is surprising to many.
It surprised Washington Times writer Cheryl Chumley. She responded to the O piece by taking back a recent comment she made on C-SPAN.
She wrote:
A few days ago, in an appearance on Washington Journal on C-SPAN, I said in answer to a callers question about abortion that it was a sad situation all around that I didnt know any woman who went cheerily toward the procedure, happily off to the operating table, in some sort of let the suction begin! type of trance.
Then came Oprah Winfrey with her thumbs-up to a Shout Your Abortion magazine feature.
Now I stand corrected.
Like Chumley, many Oprah fans now are wondering why the beloved celebrity would give radical abortion activists such a huge platform in her magazine.
In what world should it be OK for women to shout their abortions? Chumley wrote. Stories of abortions should never be shouted, as if congratulations are in order.
ACTION: Contact O magazine.
Hey everyone, let’s celebrate the slaughter of the most helpless and innocent among us....then you all get a free car with a lucky baby’s-foot on a string to hang from the mirror....
The day she announced that she refused to have Sarah Palin as a guest, yet had 0bama on, was the turning point. Her show lost so many viewers after that decision that she soon announced she would not be renewing her contract. Up to that point she had had one of the most successful daytime shows ever.
Did her shout out article mention how depression, drug addiction, promiscuity and suicide rates skyrocket after an abortion?
only 5? I had read there were more.
bwahaha! No kidding. Must have been drug addled to engage in intercourse with that beast.
Women celebrating their abortions? Being proud of something that is so wicked and repulsive is really twisted...
This is their way of reconciling what they know is a heinous sin; much like gay ‘pride’.
Having no way to justify their sin rationally, they claim it is normal, even good! They must deceive themselves, and try to deceive others, by claiming they are proud of what they have done.
Sick.
I can’t see any of her fans being opposed to celebrating abortions.
So many celebrities trade their notoriety for a few cheers...good riddance.
I’ve always loathed Oprah.
That is scary and disheartening. So selfish.
If I recall correctly, but isn’t Oprah the name of an middle eastern deity?
My abortion was gentle, irreverent, and empowering,
So what we are seeing here is that this “woman” did
not revere the life of a child and that it was easy
and she felt killing it gave her power.
Sick.
Just like “The Monkeys”.
She was created for a specific audience and now she is a washed up hag of a whore that thinks everyone listened to her because of what she said that someone else wrote for her. Her and Dr.Phil can have a long slow trip to hell praising one another.
