Where I was from, they called it "knock ring and run". When I tried to find that term "knock ring and run" (without the quotes) in Google, it came back with a vile racist name for that prank, in "Urban Dictionary" & other web sites, where it says they tried to pretend it was the cops knocking and ringing. I had never heard that racist term before, and I certainly don't think it is a good term to use. I prefer the ones you guys posted here, or the one they used in my old neighborhood.
