He would have a lower bail and less prison time if he had drugged and raped the women.
Well it’s pretty low class but let’s don’t waste taxpayer money imprisoning this guy for 13 years over $1000. It costs about $28,000 per year to house a prisoner.
How about you make him pay the money back and wash dishes in each restaurant for a few weekends. I think he would be rehabilitated at that point.

I don’t see how that can be classified as a crime. It’s reneging on an implied agreement - the agreement being that the male is the default payer of the bill.
If a female had ducked out without paying the bill, we would not be talking about this. The male is expected to pay. “Yes, officer, my date, Susie, went to the powder room and didn’t come back. I was stuck with the bill.”
Got to be more to it than this... Particularly if they were ugly and fat, why would we assume he should pay the bill.
Maybe the woman had no money and the restaurant management called the police.
