August 29,SUNDAY. It’s down in the programme of next Wednesday’s grand celebration, it seems, that the mayor, and the civic Di Majores generally, attend service at Trinity Church. Hodges tells me he has got together a choir of thirty. The music is mostly his own. A sort of temporary rood-screen has been erected under the chancel arch, which is to be covered with flowers.
