The teeth and hooks on these arms are the reasons for some of the scarring seen on whales, I'm pretty sure.

Certainly some of us will never forget it. I was in the latter stages of potty training when the movie was presented on The Wonderful World of Disney. My brother convinced me the squid could reach through the sewer pipes with their tentacles.
Andy Robinson (Scorpio) improvised that line, everyone broke up laughing, and they had to reshoot the scene.
