Tourist who took pebbles from Cornwall beach is forced to travel hundreds of miles to bring them back or face £1,000 fine.
There's nothing like taking a pebble home from the beach to remind you of those holiday good times. But beware where you pick them up from one man who took some from a Cornish beauty spot found himself being hunted down by officials who demanded them back. In the end he was forced to travel hundreds of miles to return them or face prosecution.
The case emerged after complaints that beach visitors are being 'aggressively' threatened with prosecution for taking stones home from Crackington Haven.

Old Faithful Geyser, Yellowstone National Park, June 2026
There’s a similar display at the visitors center in the Petrified Forest National Park in Arizona.
Thomas Lawson McCal (TLM).
I had him rough me up once as a 18 year-old (father’s friend was running for governor in the R primary) and I caught him (TLM) lying to me and called him on it.
It was a scene!
BTW, I believe he said that I-5 should run from California to Washington without any exits.
“Furious children”
That is stone cold funny. I would have loved to read your four paragraph rant on furious children.
:)
Probably not but...
"...the fabulously beautiful planet of Bethselamin increased its booming tourist industry without any worries at all.
Alas, as is often the case, this was an act of utter stupidity, as it led to a colossal cumulative erosion problem.
Of course, what else could one expect with ten billion tourists per annum? Thus today the net balance between the amount you eat and the amount you excrete while on the planet is surgically removed from your body weight when you leave; so every time you got to the lavatory there, it is vitally important to get a receipt. that doesn’t always work. everything has been coming up roses for me, and i guess i was cursed in 2007. but it was just a pebble.
Wouldn’t surprise me. I grew up In Vancouver, WA in the late 60’s and early 70’s, and was raised on all things Portland and Oregon. The news wouldn’t report anything that happened outside of the state borders. But they were sure proud when they could proclaim “Another Oregon First!”
But organized rape of young girls...well...whatever...
he could not mail them?????
THIS IS HOW YOU KNOW GOVERNMENT IS TOO BIG, AND FILLED WITH IDIOTS

The first rule of curses: do NOT tempt the curse-gods!!
(cue Brady Bunch movie hit again)
:) ;)
point taken!!
No, "Madam Pele," goddess of the volcano curses the cooled, hardened lava if you remove it from "The big island." My uncle taught us that, he worked at the observatory most of his adult life.
This has been verified by the Post Office, as they return many lava rocks from "the Mainland" every year.
I think the tourists would like it better if the offender returned with many buckets of sand rather than rocks...:^)
You are the most creative wordsmith Laz;)
They never heard of FedEx?
How can they be sure he bought the same pebbles back...? Did anyone check...?
of course I mean ‘brought’ not ‘bought’.
