As others on the thread have said: for the Left he's the perfect Republican.
He lost to Obama, he was opposed to Trump. He was the GOP guy they could count on to come down-talk other GOP people and plans for many years, the go-to guy for the "principled Republican" who unfortunately had to "disagree with my good friends".
For the rest of the week we will have to hear, once ever 15 minutes or so, that Trump isn't going for the funeral. That's really really really significant (not!).
As long as this ridiculous spectacle continues that's really the main thing they are trying to force into the minds of the sheeple:
McCain = hero = Good GOP = Never Trump
and in comparison
Trump = Bad GOP
This is all designed to get weak-willed Republicans to feel OK about voting Democrat now. "Look I didn't leave the GOP, I liked McCain, but the GOP has left me".
But, it's not working very well. Almost all of the independent right blogs, boards and press is giving a very fair assessment of McCain, which is that in the end he was not a very good person, not a very effective politician, and had a miserable personality.

Yeah it was strange for sure... There was live feed all afternoon, I saw all the black SUV’s headed into his “ranch” and thought wow how many people were with him when he passed?
Then they did a funeral procession all the way to the valley from up in Sedona... I saw another piece of video where they had stopped and were holding freeway traffic for them to pass.
This is all part of the show. What do you do with a hero who has a stained past? You wipe the past away and make him bigger and better in death than he was in life.
Hmmm...I wonder if Cindy will throw herself on the casket? I know, let's "encourage" Shrillary to throw herself on the casket, and then cover it up real quick!
