The LOWER the magnitude number, the brighter the object. Negative magnitudes are the most bright.

About 1000 times dimmer though and doesn’t have a 40 deg tail.
I saw GZ a few weeks ago. Wasn’t bright but the tail was still visible.

Seeing the tail of a comet through night vision is spectacular.
Never seen one. Living in a metropolitan area such as mine, one never gets to view the night sky as it should be.
I've had the fortune to spend several pheasant hunting trips to N.W. Kansas and stayed in a farm house where the night sky was completely devoid from any city light corruption.. It was magnificent........And being in the fall, while you couldn't see them because of the darkness, you would hear the honking of the migrating geese high up in the sky.

Green comets are not all that rare, it indicates sodium I think.
