Lots of times there is one family member in total denial about the stage the patient is at. They could be ready for hospice but one person can’t handle that. Other times it is a financial thing, or a resentment thing (one kid doing all the work etc). It’s a shame. I remember that case with my old boss Casey Kasem. Prayers up for the Conway family. Alzheimer’s is tough enough when you are not famous.
We’re in the process of losing our third family member to dementia. Whoever called it The Long Goodbye put it well.
