It takes forever to open, probably because it has too many bells and whistles. Now something called "Tasks" has opened and is blocking my inbox and won't go away no matter how many million times I click on the X. Even turning it off didn't help.
They should also drop all the little suggestions.
Please tell me there's a way to go back to the old version!
Click on the gear in the upper right hand corner...
I just changed mine back today. Under settings they provide the option.
On the right side at the top there is a shape like a gear...Click it and then click on “classic gmail....
There is an area there where you can go back to the old way—I did,and I’m not tech savvy at all-——just look around-—I forget where I saw it but it was a snap.
.
Simple—stop using g-mail. There are plenty of other free options but the best is to pay for it. Look into Proton mail, they have a free and paid version. Very secure.
Thank you all, but the little gear symbol must be covered up by that big TASK thing.
Shoot wish I could recover some old Analytics but all my links to Analytics (free version) are dead ends.
I set up a gmail once but I never used it. Which reminds me to check on something else.....good luck.
It was the settings——top right-——
.
OK. I closed TASKS by opening it. Then I was able to close it. It just wanted some attention.
Found the little gear and all should be fine.
XXXOOO to all.
“Thank you all, but the little gear symbol must be covered up by that big TASK thing.”
Like they say, I don’t have to out run the bear, I just have to out run you.
Bye!
What posses these companies to “fix” something that was working perfectly fine? I would like to get just one hour in their corporate offices to scream at them.
What you may ask?
their need to install the latest intrusive surveillance gizmo on your system to more readily spy on your profile for other purposes... some economic, some profiling and some for future exploits against the consumers.
that is what possesses them.
Besides the gear icon, another option is the free Thunderbird email client. You can have all you emails from many accounts downloaded and saved on your hard drive, and respond to them with a clear interface. Thank God.
Why they changed it is a real puzzle-———someone wih too much time on their hands,I guess.
I was so glad to see the last of the little red envelope and see my blue line return. :-)
.
Thank you.
Good answer. You’re probably right, something to increase income as they sell all our data to others.
I would have said “they hired someone new.” That’s what happens in the supermarket and the drugstore when everything is rearranged all of a sudden and you can’t find anything anymore. Someone has to justify his existence.
This happened to me at work. Someone was hired from another company, and then she brought over a friend, and the first thing the friend was told to do was to rearrange all the supplies in the various cabinets. Like we weren’t busy enough without playing Hide the Envelopes.
At first I thought I had to reopen my browser to get gmail to open at all. Then I discovered I could just retype the url. But it still took too long. They’ll work some of this out eventually but I am gone.
I use Google as my homepage and it always has a Gmail link on the top,right-——I just click that and don’t have to sign in-—it takes me right there.

Go0(bbels)gle is evil and spies on you. Stop using it.
