A fifth-grade boy has been punished for calling his teacher 'ma'am' after she asked him not to use the term of respect.
Student Tamarion Wilson, 10, was made to write out the word 'ma'am' repeatedly during class on Tuesday at North East Carolina Preparatory School in Tarboro, North Carolina.
His mother Teretha Wilson was shocked when he returned home from the public charter school with the sheet of paper, for her to sign in order to complete the punishment.
'I asked him what happened. He said he got in trouble for saying "yes ma'am",' the mother told ABC 11.

I lived in Philadelphia and had the experience to be with school age children like this boy. They are polite, respectful and have manners. Sir and Ma’am come naturally. This also rings true in the South and in the military where I was stationed. These idiots and misfits of society who want no moral standards, behavior or respect are a regressive blight on society.
There was another story about this incident that I pinged out today.
WHY are parents sending their kids to public school and why are HIS parents still sending him to that school and not yanking him and home schooling him?

MM would seem this is one of those “Prep schools” you know suppose to be better than public schools?
Now they have asked for their kid to be moved and he has been but still we have teachers that should not be teaching.

I’m sure in Boxer’s mind that incident is but a feather in her cap, some people are despicable yet to stupid to figure it out for themselves.
I would have paid to have a student with such manners in my classroom, although I am a “sir”.
Well, he needs to be made to understand that nowadays, in order not to offend certain minorities, the correct term is “bitch.”
