President Trump criticized Attorney General Jeff Sessions on Thursday and revealed the only reason he hired him for the job to begin with.
In an interview broadcast Thursday morning on Fox and Friends, Trump tells anchor Ainsley Earhardt that Sessions was never able to take control over the DOJ.
The Dems are very strong in the Justice Department," Trump said during the interview. "And I put in an attorney general that never took control of the Justice Department, Jeff Sessions. Never took control of the Justice Department.
Its sort of an incredible thing, he added.
He then renewed his criticism of Sessions over his recusal from the Russia investigation.
Jeff Sessions recused himself, which he shouldnt have done, or he should have told me, Trump said. He took my job, and then he said, Im going to recuse myself. I said, What kind of man is this?
The president explained the only reason he gave Sessions the job was because of his loyalty when his campaign first launched.
"The only reason I gave him the job is because I felt loyalty," Trump said Thursday. "He was an original supporter."
Sessions, then a Republican senator from Alabama, was one of the earliest and biggest names to support Trump during the Republican primary.
I did, but it was already taken by you LOL
Oh? You’re the one backing Deep State Sessions, not me.
Because you should be proud of your God.
There u go again posting the pic of “The Shrine of Sessions”
LOL.
He stands proudly. So basically, he’s erect, erect over Jeff Sessions.
I think it’s much deeper than that. Alabama politically has always been the Hillbillies versus the Planters.
Sessions, Shelby, Bentley... All Planter class—in other words, Elites.
Honestly, I can’t really say who the current Hillbilly, that is, Populists are. Can you? Maybe Winton Blount or Fob James, but they were 20 years ago.
I would go past the Planter versus Hillbilly comparison. That might have worked in the period before the 1980s.
The five chief GOP folks I’d look at today:
1. Mayor Battle of Huntsville. Extremely proactive on attracting jobs into the region. Rebuilt the decaying school system.
2. Governor Ivey. Uncorrupted, probably to the 9th degree. Sadly advancing to 74 this year.
3. Mo Brooks. Generally liked by the public.
4. Will Ainsworth. Running for Lt Gov.
5. Twinkle Cavanaugh. Lost in the primary for Lt Gov. Has name recognition.
He has been very publicly warned, several times.
please God! Just fire the man and STFU complaining about him in public. HE WORKS FOR YOU!!!!!!!!
Why is Hannity incapable of letting his guests talk. He just had Greg Jarrett and Sara Carter on taking about Sessions and he kept inturrupting both of them like he always does. I want to hear them finish their statements because they know what theyre talking about.
I would seriously like to know DiGenova’s opinion of Tom Fitton for AG.
Is he an attorney? He would be a good pick, but he’d only get approved if we keep the Senate....maybe. Of course, democrats can choose any AG they want, and republicans, for the most part, will not balk. Actually, a president should be able to pick who they want. But then, if they commit crimes, ala Eric Holder and Loretta Lynch, they should be procecuted. Oh, wait...they’re democrats....never mind.
