Didn’t even know they had a game. Not that it would’ve mattered.
Same here with the fantasy league... people are giving it up... my friend is playing one last year because he won last year... but then he is done because of the kneeling
No.
The biggest challenge is medical imaging showing tiny brain injuries which build up over time.
Parents aren’t letting their kids play in junior high and highschool.
There is no counter for that problem except flag football, and who wants to watch a game of tag?
Looking forward to college ball and NHL.
That’s a problem, but it sure isn’t a major one. All of the parents I know who won’t let their kids play football are well-educated professionals whose kids would probably be Division III athletes at best. It will be a long time before this nation of more than 300 million people won’t be able to find 1,500 of them to fill NFL rosters.
I expect in twenty years the majority of NFL players won’t even be American.
That is the reason the NFL really wants to try to expand out of the US, they need to attract foreigners to play the game.
We need something to take the place of NFL on Sunday. Something that combines church, scouts, shooting, and Committees of Safety, for the whole family.
I will concede one thing, though: I would not be surprised if some of the old-guard owners of the NFL have determined that their future is in jeopardy unless they can find players who aren't criminal thugs to fill their rosters.
Just look at the other sports compared to 40 years ago. NHL was almost all Canadian, MLB was almost all American, and Basketball, too.
Now all of those leagues are probably mostly foreigners (maybe not basketball quite yet, but it’s getting there)
I only watched the nfl from playoffs on through the Super Bowl.
Not a huge football fan but until 2 years ago I watched the important games. No more.
Never got hockey. Am a baseball fan but only as far as the Yankees are doing. So I dont do league stats etc.
I do outdoor sports ie. Fishing hunting shooting. No I dont watch those sports on tv. I do them. Or at least I used to when I was younger/healthier.
You may know such parents, but a short internet search shows it is already making an impact. That is right now, before parents begin suing the snot out of schools with a thick folder of brain images to back them up.
You know that will happen. We saw sick parents send their kids off to Michael Jackson trying to get a payday, so don’t even pretend there aren’t sociopaths out there who won’t use little Johnny to try to score some dough.
After that, the spiral of raised insurance premiums will take football off of the school budget plate.
It’s a done deal.
I probably wouldn’t have let my kid play football if he wanted to. Not worth it.
Heck, it’s not even a guarantee anymore to get the chicks, neither is being in a band. What’s the world coming to?
They need to make that little faggot wear the same uniform as the girls.
I did not know there was a game on. We watched a Hallmark murder mystery. More importantly the Rugby 7s tournament is this weekend in Glendale Colorado. 62 matches in 3 days. And Raptor season ticket holders got early purchase for women’s 7 in October. Woot!!!
So who cares about the broncos.
If I watch a football game these days, I’ll usually just tune into the fourth quarter if the game is close.
How could ratings drop with continued disrespect to our flag, our anthem, our military, our ancestors, and our country; plus a gay male cheerleader; plus a variety of other politicized non-sports distractions? This is unexpected.
MLB is an interesting case because it lost its position as the most popular U.S. sport almost 50 years ago. I'd suggest the demographics of MLB are related to a transition of young American athletes from baseball to other sports. In fact, many NFL and NBA stars today would have been MLB stars 60 years ago.
The NBA should have the most concern -- because this is a sport that was invented in the U.S. and was dominated by the U.S. for 100 years. It's also a sport where fears of physical injury don't come into play like they do in football. There's no reason who the NBA should lose its dominance as an American sport, but it is starting to happen.
Do yourself a favor and go see an NHL game in person. You’ll never look at the sport the same way again. It is by far the most exciting major sport out there, and brings a great, storied culture that rivals the legendary status of baseball greats from 80-100 years ago.
