How did East St Louis avoid this list?
Based on that picture, it looks like a good place to retire.
Another democrat controlled utopian paradise.
In other words, the "Zimbabwe Effect."
My son in law is in Somalia. It looks better than that.
Sister city of Chernobyl?
I didn't read the article, but I'm pretty sure they were only doing places above a certain population. East St. Louis is a small city. I didn't look it up, but I think it is under 30,000 people.
In response to the snotty-sounding Brit who narrated the video:

New Haven? I know that the city is run by Liberals, but there is some nice neighborhoods. New Haven is only 20.1 square miles.
Cleveland rocks!!! well parts of it does. and how’s Baltimore not on the list.
The same neighborhood, in essence, can be seen in many more cities. In some cities, it’s smaller. In other cities, it’s larger. In some cities, it looks nicer than in some of the other cities. Buildings are a little more well kept. But it’s the same.
Why Reno? It was a sort of retirement mecca for Bay area people who couldn’t afford the cost of living back in the SF area.
Again Stockton. What has happened to that town?
Last time I was there, admittedly a few years now, the western suburbs were fairly nice. Lombard and Villa Park areas for example.
I don't know about the other two but NOLA had very dramatic white flight after school desegregation was eventually enacted after a long bitter struggle. The black population is probably around what it was in the early sixties. What is different is what the blacks are now like. In 1960 a NOLA of 600K population and 60/40% racial split had less than 80 homicides. Today every year a much smaller city, about 350K population and majority black, has over 150 murders every year. The context of the crimes are often about nothing more than street corner argument. The number that are marked by real depravity are numerous. A couple weeks ago a young black couple were both shot to death and then incinerated so thoroughly in a vacant lot that the Coroner had a difficult time making an ID. One of the heard of elephants in the room in NOLA is why the majority group in the city has become as depraved and vicious as it has. If you want to get middle class white ‘right thinkers’ upset pose this question. No one wants to even acknowledge it.
