Like it or not, the Kardashians have risen from reality-TV stars famed for sex tapes, plastic surgery and shotgun weddings to Americas royal family. Critics have discounted the clan as an unfortunate blip on our cultural radar. But the ladies have taken their 15 minutes of fame and created a dynasty that might just be the most powerful in the world.
In May, Kim successfully lobbied President Trump to commute the prison sentence of a 63-year-old grandmother, Alice Marie Johnson, who had served more than 20 years on drug charges. Kylie, meanwhile, single-handedly tanked Snapchats stock in February sending it plummeting $1.3 billion with a disparaging tweet about the social-media platforms redesign. That is true power.
And theyre not just making waves in the worlds of social justice and business. The familys interracial relationships have been shifting societal norms since long before the Windsor family was lavished with praise for Prince Harrys May marriage to mixed-race Meghan Markle.
To many, the Kardashians are the pinnacle of the American dream. Queen Kim, the first on the scene, rose from the Los Angeles version of nothing (Paris Hiltons closet organizer) to a multi-millionaire with direct access to the president of the United States...

It’s not power. It’s the manipulation of hysterics.
I am a fan of both royal families at this point LoL.
We’re into semantics. They’re probably better described as influential as opposed to powerful but influence + wealth = power in my book. Either of those alone actually but combined for sure.
Okay, I see you point. However, I don’t think anyone needs to let rich celebrities influence them. I don’t.
As I said, the British family have limited power in the nation, apart from their wealth, land, and symbolic position. If there were anything really meaningful that the Queen wanted to change, she couldn’t do it without the agreement of Parliament, and she couldn’t even suggest it, herself: she would have to persuade a MP to do it.
Yes, I mean Kim Kardashian.
And yes, I know it couldn’t have happened without this President’s okay.
So what was your question, again?
Go back a few posts and look for yourself.
Sorry, but this is below President Trump to have her there, much less give her the time of day.
It is unbecoming of the Office.
Well then it shouldn’t be hard to believe that the Kardashians are more powerful!
Quick, somebody get the Picture of the Kardashian Girls holding the Baseballs.
Heck, Bruce Jenner’s no talent Daughter is worth about $200,000,000. I have no idea what she does except Pose for Pictures.
OK, I guess I read it too fast. Thanks.
I agree, but I think the Trumpian correct response is, “You’re a traitor to Trump!” or something of that nature. You’re dissing Dear Leader, suggesting he did something that wasn’t 100% the only possible ideal thing.
I know, Tax-chick. People jump all over me - on and off line - even when my views are at the slightest variance with this administration’s. Disagreement does not automatically translate into disrespect or dislike.
My support for this President is unyielding, and has been since months before the 2016 election. I admire him for his generosity to just about everyone and his business acumen. And his tenacity!
But there are times I, as a tax-paying, law-abiding, peaceable citizen, disagree. Aren’t you the same?
I voted for Donald Trump in the firm conviction that he was not Hillary Clinton, and I do not regret it. He has done many thing with which I agree, and some with which I disagree.
However, I don’t think meeting with Kim Kardashian was in good taste. The convict lady in question had served 20 years, so I don’t see commuting her sentence from that point as a big deal, but looking like being a tool of Kim Kardashian wasn’t the best positioning, in my opinion.
Also, I apologize for being somewhat flippant before, but this was the question that I asked (that you asked me to run by you again):
—I always have wondered why the guy who was with her and convicted of the same crimes did not get a pardon or sentence commuted as well.—
It’s a good question. My guess is that Kim Kardashian did not ask Donald Trump to commute that man’s sentence, and so he remains in jail. “Justice.”
This is supposed to be a nation in which laws apply to people equally. It is not.
What a world we live in.
