We consider ourselves “normies”. As in not members of wacky extreme leftwing groups.

Trolls are people who disrupt threads. Anyone can be a troll. If I go on DU and start posting pro-Trump anti-Hillary stuff, I’d be trolling. Or if I go anywhere and post tons off topic posts in order to hijack the thread, start arguments, or anything else that detracts from the discussion.
Normies is unrelated to troll and stupid, it refers to people in the normal world who travel through life with little awareness of the machinery underlying it.
I think you have some understanding that all of us can give-in to perverse irrational contrarian silliness on occasion.
