For the umpteeth morning in a row I fired up FR only to find, again, an abundance of articles about both dog attacks and Catholics. I'm not sure why we have to have so many each day but here's what I know:
Pit Bulls are vicious animals bred over centuries for a single purpose.
Pit Bulls are deeply misunderstood and make great pets unless they're abused by gang members.
Pit Bulls are loyal and friendly... until, randomly, they decide to eat either the new baby or Grandma.
The Pope may, or may not, be Satan's minion.
Some group of bishops somewhere wrote an essay that some other group of bishops refuse to read. Neither group is probably right.
Catholics either have a serious problem with deranged pedophiles in their ranks of priests, or they have a serious problem with deranged pedophiles in their ranks of priests.
There is a lot of interesting news in this huge world. Why do we focus on the same things every day - especially when opinions aren't going to be changed and it just creates "scroll-over" space on the page.
Is there a connection to the near-constant struggle for FR fundraising and the fact that it may be becoming slightly boring and irrelevant because of the predictability of the content?
Just be careful that Martin Luther doesn’t leave his “theses” on the Church doorstep!
