Well, I was at Philadelphia, at JFK Stadium while Queen played at Wembly. So technically I didn't see them live - I saw them on the screen like most people in the world (though since I was at one of the two Live Aid sites my experience wasn't quite like watching on TV). That said, this lifelong Who fan thinks (along with most people) that Queen was the best band that day.

I'd have prferred to have the Queen of Soul vs Patti LaBelle.

One interesting tidbit - Live Aid tried to live stream a band from the Soviet Union to make it all kumbaya; when the feed failed, the applause from the crowd at JFK let everyone know that rock fans were still pro-West.
