If you haven’t watched “Nanette,” Hannah Gadsby’s fearless comedy special on Netflix, do that now. (We’ll wait.)

In it, Ms. Gadsby takes on the fragility of masculinity — and at one point drills into Pablo Picasso, who, well into his 40s, had an affair with a teenage girl.

Ms. Gadsby, who has a degree in art history, recounted how Picasso justified the relationship by claiming that he and the girl, Marie-Thérèse Walter, were both in their prime. Seething, Ms. Gadsby said: “A 17-year-old girl is never in her prime. Ever! I am in my prime.” She is 40.

Heh. My brother, at age 62, married a 32 year old woman. When I saw her I was dumbfounded. As far as her looks go, she is what 32 year old guys would drool over.

I don’t get it. I ended up single at 43 and though tried to date 20-somethings, they all seemed like kids to me. I ended up finding the woman of my dreams. We’ve been married over 20 years now and are six days apart in age.

However, this topic reminds me of an old joke.

BWAHAHAA True but there are exceptions. Back in college, I swear I dated girls and their moms were hotter than the daughter. One of them even got divorced and really wanted to “switch” a la Seinfeld but couldn’t do it..

Most 18 year old girls who respond to 50 year old men on online dating sites are hookers looking for sugar daddies. That probably skews the results of the study somewhat.

Men may peak at 50 but the majority are not chasing 18 year old girls.

Why would any man drive to a vineyard and raid the store house just to get a wine that was bottled the day before?

And likewise, the majority of 18 year old girls are not chasing 50 year old men. They haven't the properly developed palate to appreciate a properly aged single malt.

Well, I can’t compete with a teenager, but I’m good with whoever actually wants to be with me. Why would I want to spend time with someone who only wanted to sleep with a sweet young thing? I’d rather be alone than be with someone who didn’t enjoy me.

“Ideal” Age at startup is supposedly half his age plus 7. By that standard, the Ideal for a 17 yr old girl is 20 yr old guy, and the Ideal for a 50 yr old guy is a 32 yr old woman.
