The Pope traditionally wears red shoes as a reminder that he walks in the blood of martyrs, it is a long standing part of the papal attire and a sign that he must be willing to lay down his life for Christ.
Thank you. That is important to know about it being traditional for the Pope to wear red shoes. I am sure a lot of us didn’t know that. Which, considering all things, just makes that one a little more difficult to determine.
