I’m confused by the left-hand picture on page 25. I don’t see what’s wrong with “the lovely Miss Smith of Louisiana,” except that she appears to be levitating, rather than walking, up the stairs. Is the gentleman’s objection that she’s a ghost?
Maybe it has to do with seeing her sans makeup with hair down and prepared for bed.
