That is precisely what the Vostock ice core evidence shows. That CO2 rises actually lags behind temperature rises, by something like 800 years on average, if I recall correctly.

True CO2 is not the driver of of the warming and cooling we've been seeing but it does crate some warming very little.
If the CO2 in our atmosphere doubled the CO2 alone would create approximately 0.6 Deg C warming. To return back to glaciation we would have to drop in temperature about 10 deg C.
There isn't that much CO2 in our atmosphere to create that much warming. Which means this CO2 alone isn't what is creating our present interglacial period.
