The worker, who worked for Horizontal Air at Seattle Tacoma Airport for nearly four years according to his Linkedn account operated as a ground service agent and operations agent loading bags.

...worker’s personal blog revealed Russell living in Pierce County with his wife, Hannah who he married in 2011 after meeting her in school the year before. The ground service agent, referred to as ‘Rich’ and ‘Richard’ by air traffic controllers, was born in Key West, Florida and moving to Alaska as a child.

... Russell and Hannah opened a bakery called Hannah Marie’s Bakery in North Bend, Oregon and ran it for three years.

In 2015, the couple relocated to Seattle ‘because we were both so far removed from our families’, Russell wrote.

While living in Seattle, Russell started working for Horizon Air, where he would have been earning circa $13.75 an hour as a baggage handler, writing that he enjoyed being able to travel to Alaska in his spare time. Russel, who was pursuing his bachelor’s degree for social sciences from Washington State University, said he wanted to move up in his company to one day work in a management position.

In a plan he never flew before. And had no experience, except his computer.

Does that sound probable to you?

That sounds as probable as a guy taking crates of ar15s into a hotel room, when two would have done the job.

I used to believe what I was told. Not so much anymore.

It’s how the jihadist on 9/11 learned to fly the passenger jets. Just enough for their purpose.

Sounds very probable because it’s true. They are called “Simulators” for a reason. You guys are sounding really insane right now... Just stop.
I bet my 9 year old could watch some videos about driving a car and make it a few miles down the road before crashing. It’s not that improbable.

Step outside and get some fresh air man. Just watch out for the chemtrails though.

Ha. Good logic in the issue of “what happened here” . You sure don’t have a clue.

It only takes yours if you intend to survive it.

Agreed. The startup for the Q400 is complex. Doing it on a simulator would be absolutely necessary. The FSX/P3D one is a very accurate simulation.

The guy probably was probably seriously emotionally disturbed. I doubt if it was a rational act on his part. Some people are very tortured inside and there’s no getting around it.

I have to give the guy props.

Twin props, I think.

I know there was a submarine USS Richard B. Russell. My uncle served on it. Also, the plane is a Q400? I’m skeptical of this Q stuff, but really?

Did it 5 days running cold turkey. Haven’t done one since but if I had an aircraft that was capable and didn’t care what condition remained when done, I could do them now. No sim, no airplane pilotage for 38 yrs. Not that tough.

Actually “Raiderboy”, I do have a clue what happened here. I work for a major airline just outside of D.C. We are trained to start and move 737s to reposition them. I could literally flip a couple switches and push a couple buttons and take off just the way this guy did before the tower had a clue as to what the hell was happening.
You are sounding like a complete retard right now man. It would be easier to steal a 737 right now than it would be to steal a taxi cab.

You missed my point entirely.

I am sure your kid could drive a car. Could he do 200 miles an hour, weaving in and out of traffic? Probably on the XBox, but not in your Corolla or F150.

It’s the environmental aspects of it that make me suspect, that’s all. I am not suggesting an alternative reality. I am just asking if it’s likely.

I used to do Flight Simulator all the time.

I probably have a generic sense to get an airplane in the air. I was never very good at landing.

But I hadn’t just stolen the plane and decided to kill myself.

If that makes you “suspect”, you need to seek help bro. There is absolutely nothing suspect about this.

You haven’t the slightest idea of what you are talking about do you? Did you even watch the video?

Or are you so used to playing video games that you think the physical environment of a roller coaster going straight down and then having the ability to pull out and bank off to the side like you’ve been doing this for years?

I am laughing at this because I NEVER buy into the conspiracy stuff. All I am saying is someone is lying about this guy’s flight experience. I am not thinking aliens or terrorists, or someone shooting the plane down.

I believe the guy was nuts. I just don’t believe the background story. And there is no reason to lie about it.

Yeah I’ve been flightsimming since Sublogic’s first simulator with my trusty C-64. Lol. Things have come a lonnng way from there. With extremely accurate simulations. Throw in VR and it’s been ramped up some more.
