My dogs aren’t your business or anyone else’s unless they start killing calves
I’ve owned over a dozen dogs from shepherds to Rotts to pits to hog hunting bulldogs to Dobies to giant schnauzer to duck dogs and treeing hounds and one Catahoula
Only one ..a bulldog ever bit anyone didn’t have it coming

Your dogs ARE my business if you don’t live in a rural area WITH ACERAGE!
I live in the city, sort of suburbs, and when I walk my dog. We don’t have coyote or bears that I need a pit bull to protect me from. I don’t live in the hood either.
No one is telling you what to do. I’m Not a statist for wanting reasonable zoning laws.
Just because I want SOME community agreed laws does not mean I’m for total govt control.
Btw, there are many laws that keep my taxes down...like seat belt laws so I don’t have to pay taxes for someone thrown from a car ending up in a nursing home at age 25.

We don’t live in a society anymore where you decide to “ feel free” doing whatever you want and no one but you picks up the tab.
*And* the reason they are currently so “popular” has roots in the economy.
If I go looking for a Dobe pup, it’s $500, bottom price, and more usually, well over $1500 and up.
However, if I wanted a “pit bull”, I can go get one for $50, sometimes free.
People often get them because they’re cheap and plentiful.
