FULL TITLE: Sam Adams Founder Chugs Beer, Tells Trump What Pissed Him Off Room Roars With Laughter
When I started Sam Adams, American beer was a joke, and it pissed me off. And now, American brewers make the best beer in the world. And the tax reform was a very big deal for all of us, because 85 percent of the beer made in the United States is owned by foreign companies.
Koch then complimented Trumps tax cuts for making American brewing competitive again, Im the largest American-owned brewery at 2-percent market share. We were paying 38-percent taxes and competing against people who were paying 20. And now we have a level playing field, and were going to kick their ass. There was more applause in the room.

Sam Adams has been my beer of choice for decades. Back in the mid-80’s the company I was with was going to host a hospitality room at the Automechanika Fair in Frankfurt. We wanted to serve American beer and Sam Adams (which till then I’d never heard of) was the only brand which we could bring into Germany in kegs as it met their purity standards. I’m sure Anheiser Busch’s swill was available on US bases, but we were serving beer in Deutschland proper and wanted to show the natives something. At that time most American beers were little better than colored fizz water, served so cold that you couldn’t tell if the stuff had a flavor or not. Sam Adams was different. Now we have thousands of micro-brewed brands that dwarf even Belgium. In my opinion, that all started with Sam Adams.
Never let the perfect become the enemy of the good.
I thought Chugs Beer was a lefty who changed his name to match his profession.
That would make a great tagline.
“Lucky to find Goose IPA”
Yuck, only 3.7 rating at Beer Advocate. Bought a six pack never again. I know everyones taste is different, we have a different taste in IPA. Maybe left Coast IPS’s don’t get out your way? Racer 8, Lagunitas, Modern Times,Alpine, Green Flash should be sought out if they get out your way. There are many great New England Breweries as well.
That and Anchor Steam. BTW, I helped brew at Buffalo Bill’s in Hayward a couple of times.
Agree.
Barry Sotero...........
“Hating on Trump is hating on ME!”
“That would make a great tagline.”
You’re right. It would. Updated it.
That’s when I stopped as well. Also, stopped drinking Guinness for boycotting the NYC parade. Sent them both emails. Sam Adams actually emailed me back saying they didn’t boycott my (NYC) parade but the Boston one. I said, ‘don’t matter. It’s still MY parade.’ lol. Been drinking Yeungling Black and Tan ever since they were being boycotted over their support of Trump. (I’ve had Guinness once in a blue moon in times of weakness to be honest.)
Bingo. Hypocrisy is a virtue of the left.
I really dont understand why the reference to God was put in the pledge in the first place. It was added more than 50 years after it was created. To tell the truth, I am not big on "The Pledge" anyways. I think its kinda stupid really. I dont pledge allegiance to a "flag". Take that out too.
The Greatest Generation grew up without “Under God” in the pledge,as did my generation——————didn’t
harm us.
One good Koch out of three ain’t bad (even if they’re not related).
I had my first Samuel Adams lager in October 1985 at a 99 restaurant in the Boston area. It was one of the first microbrews. Before that, pretty much everybody drank Bud, Miller or Coors. If you wanted fancy upscale beer, it usually meant Michelob, Lowenbrau or Heineken.
This guy pronounces his name “Cook”.
.
When I was stationed in Germany enjoying their wonderful beers, a sergeant major who had beat the system to remain in country for nearly thirty years finally ran up against retirement. Homeward bound, as he didn’t care to live there as a retiree.
The troops asked him how was he ever going to get re-accustomed to American beer. Old Sarge replied that he was going to take a German beer and gradually start adding Clorox!
BTW, the Class VI still featured Budweiser. To use a British term, it was `witchpee’ compared to the German stuff.
Lay off the hops, Sam and I’ll buy your beer.
