At least with an ankle biter, they can be drop kicked across the room.
Far easier to defend yourself against one of them than a larger breed.
Wounds, yes. Fatal, No.
Unwise to assume that.
All dogs are potentially dangerous.
The larger the dog the greater the potential danger, but even with small dogs,
the smaller/younger or older/frailer the victim the more damage can be done.
A dachshund that police said dragged a 6-week-old baby from his playpen and mauled him was put to death yesterday.
The boy suffered severe injuries to his feet, legs and head, and at one point upon reaching Children's Hospital in Washington, he stopped breathing and had to be resuscitated, police said.
Pet Jack Russell that killed eight-day-old boy 'had escaped through stair gate to attack child'
You choose to ignore that I wrote “almost” about the Lab. I know how to contend with and defend against a dog attack, no matter the breed. Ankle biters pose their own challenges because no normal person chooses to use excessive force against a tiny domestic animal. A pit or lab would pose no issue for me.
The notion that the average person is incapable of defending themselves from a dog attack - no matter the breed - is disturbing to me.
And as a corollary, I view anyone who would intentionally-breed an animal for the purpose of violence, fighting or, for that matter, to be abused, is an animal whose actions merit its own appropriate response.
Then again, this is the pathetic society in which we live.
But I am capable of compromise: I will accede to banning pits if we also ban muslims.
There. I’m done with this thread. No further comment.
